Lynn Culp is a Denver artist who specializes in painting man's best friend in bright, bold colors, producing pet art as colorful as their personalities.
She received her BFA degree in painting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Jersey, pursuing a career in graphic design for 20 years. In 2006 she experimented painting dog portraits and developed a technique using bright colors painted over a red background, composed with a very graphic style.
Lynn aims for simple, strong compositions, cropping tightly to focus on the animal's head and eyes, and wrapping the image around the sides of a deep canvas using acrylics. The final product is a dimensional modern painting, ready to hang, that needs no frame.
She received two awards at the 2009 Art Show at the Dog Show for Best Entry Depicting a Sighthound and Best Entry Depicting a Poodle. She has twice exhibited at the International Exhibition on Animals in Art at Louisiana State University.
Lynn does many custom commission paintings and will immortalize your pet into “The no-maintenance dog that will make you smile.” (She also paints cats and horses).
